Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20 ★★★★

The food at Novotel was absolutely incredible. We purchased the breakfast for the mornings of our stay and it was fantastic. Plenty of options and such fresh food. Options to sit on the balcony or inside was there. Roof top roof… wow incredible the staff were so welcoming and accommodating I couldn’t have loved the hotel more. Would highly recommend. Bedroom space perfect and bed very comfortable.

Great room. Modern, clean and with a good view. Pool was cool, clean and a bar beside. Loads of fresh clean towels, loungers, bean bags etc. Roof top bar is great and the breakfast buffet was extensive! Freshly cooked omelets on demand... yum!

The first room I was given had an unusual 'water flowing' noise throughout the night. They fixed it the next day, but it returned in the middle of the night again. They were very apologetic about it and moved me to another room on a higher level. I was grateful they took my issue seriously as sleep is so important to me.

Tail in the pool was very strange and uncomfortable. Cut my feet. Somewhat small pool but very nice view at night.

The location was great. Right in the heart of Sukhumvit. Tram station was nearby and so was the metro. The gym was pretty good. And we loved our room, it was clean, quiet and comfortable.

It's warm in Bangkok, and i love cold showers. Just didn't feel the water was cold enough for a cold shower.

Disappointing quantity and quality of food at the 20th floor executive lounge and little / no replenishment once foods has been consumed so if you arrive after 6.30 - good luck!! Service was slow - would be much easier to have self serve soft drinks and then only alcohol service if the hotel wants to manage portion sizes and servings.

My room had a beautiful view and was very modern. I was so impressed after just two days with the breakfast, room, staff and location that I added another week to my stay. Fast forward, I’ve been here almost 2 months now. I’ll eventually leave only because the explorer in me needs to see other neighborhoods and provinces but I was always stay here when in the area, even when they most likely raise the price when we are past the pandemic. They have a laundry service where whatever you can fit in a supplied bag js 999 Baht. It may not be a bad deal for a single individual who uses their clothes more than once or twice before washing them. I still have clothes that are clean from the first time I used the service. WiFi is pretty decent. I had one or two small connectivity issues which they addressed immediately. Staff goes above and beyond. Minibar is restocked daily but be clear what you’re being charged for and how much. After my first week I had them stop restocking the minibar after I saw my invoice. If you’ve shopped in Thailand or live here, be aware you’re paying hotel prices for these items (this happens at any hotel in the world) yet there is a Family Mart literally across the street from the hotel and a 7-11 two buildings over, where items are much cheaper. It could be closer to Asoke or Phrom Phong station but I’m a walker so for me these were non issues. Heading towards Phrom Phong one has plenty of food choices. If you head towards Asoke station there are some options there, and a small plaza or arcade close to Soi Cowboy. Terminal 21 (a decent sized shopping mall) is by Asoke station. Overall I’ve been happy here and with Allcor as a brand. If I were not believe me I would not have been here for over a month and still at the property as of this review. I can be picky when it comes to where I stay but Novotel has gone above and beyond any expectations and my previous two hotel stays in Bangkok and Pattaya.

They switched breakfast from in room delivery to the 9th floor and the first time I went it was cold because it’s not buffet with heaters. I was a little surprised by my bill for the minibar and was not clear what they were charging me for. I bought some of the same brands of water they stock because it’s what I used and there was some small confusion whether the staff restocked it and I should pay for it or if I bought it and was mistakenly being charge for it. They removed it with zero hassle but I later had them add it back because the cleaning lady who I had interacted with a few times told me she put them in there. It wasn’t a big deal and I simply asked them as mentioned above to stop restocking the minibar.

We booked a suite which is spacious and comes with a huge tub. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and polite.

It was near perfect, except that the TV wasn’t a smart TV, hence there was limited English channels (not Netflix or YouTube) and cannot connect to smart devices. It was a pity that we couldn’t enjoy watching movies with the TV in the room.

The staff were exceptional. Very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to check in earlier and check out later. This stay exceeded all of my expectations.

Why not have smoking room

Rooms are well sized with lots of amenities and nice view; pool was a little small but very nice and relaxing as a space. Gym was also small but functional. Rooftop bar is large and has a good view; and the happy hour deal is good.

Unexpectedly at the end of our stay the rooftop bar was closed for maintenance, but the happy hour promotions and drinks were not made available at the bar in the lobby. Moving the menu downstairs would have been nice.

Understated professionalism and service conducted with a smile. I realise not many guests about but to have staff remember my name counts for a lot. From extra coffee delivered to the room with a minute at 3.30am to immaculate room with a view !

Nice and smallish swimming pool that is lovely but unfortunately taken over by a loud French make who runs what appears to be ‘aerobic’ lessons to expats. Little room for my daughters to swim. A sanctuary transformed into a disco with tattoos.
